The Franz Mayer Museum is located in the heart of the historic center of Mexico, in an exceptional 16th-century building that once belonged to the Order of San Juan de Dios. This cultural institution opened its doors in 1986 with the purpose of preserving and displaying the collection bequeathed to Mexico by Franz Mayer upon his passing.
